MilModa Art was created by Michelle Linger who, with qualifications in Art and Design and over 20 years experience working in the art world is exhibiting at the prestigious Buy Art Fair in Manchester from 28th -31st October, Stand 256.

Over the years Michelle has built up a strong working relationship with a wide range of artists nationally and internationally. When you purchase one of MilModa’s exceptional pieces, they are works that are one-off, original, exclusive paintings MilModa also supports and displays the works of emerging artists.

Michelle comments “MilModa gives professional advice and service. All our paintings are hand chosen and in the current economic climate, it is wise to invest in exceptional, original paintings that will look en vogue not only today but also in many years time. They are flexible to be displayed in any environment and this is why our slogan is ‘Art to treasure forever’”.

In the show, amongst other artists, MilModa Art will be representing Five highly acclaimed contemporary artists Cloe Cloherty, Alexander Slatter, Charles Borrell, Robert Hart and Fleur Deakin. All their works are one-off, exclusive pieces.

Cloe Cloherty’s nudes are an expression of the human spirit and she always works from life, moulding the form into abstract shapes. In charcoal she works fast to capture the form before it is lost and in oils she rotates the canvas over periods of weeks until she is fully satisfied with her end result.

Her images as created by a woman, are formed from the inside out and are considered sensual but not sexual, yet with emotion and romanticism. Her works are real women as seen by a woman who can empathise with and understand the happiness and sorrows of being a female.

One of Milmoda’s national artists with strong Manchester connections is contemporary, mixed media artist Fleur Deakin, who studied and lived in the city in the early 90’s. Her unique canvas works are created with vivid colours and have a stunning glass like effect. She also considers herself an eco-friendly artist as her works incorporate various materials within her paintings, ranging from gold leaf to lace and recycled palette paint. Everything she collects has a use, including memories of locations visited. For the viewer to appreciate these works they are a must to be seen in reality.

“I lived and studied in Manchester, completing a diploma in Recreational arts for the community. This experience influenced me in becoming the artist that I am today. I continue to be committed to taking art into the community and have seen the positive effects on mental health and life quality. I look forward to being represented by MilModa at Buy Art. I will be showing a series of works exploring natural, architectural and urban elements”.

International Abstract artist Rob Hart comments “I’m looking forward to showing my new collection at Buy Art. Although I know Manchester well, this will be the first time I have exhibited there and it will be interesting to see what kind of response the work gets. Manchester is a buzzing, vibrant city with a strong creative community and I feel sure there will be a lot of interest in the Buy Art Fair. It’s also an interesting new venture for MilModa Art and I am excited about showing my new work with them”.

Rob continues referring his to influences that inspired him to paint his new collection of work “What really interests me at the moment, and what is at the centre of my current work is a kind of “otherness” about the landscape, or spirit of place. I started out as a young artist being very influenced by Artist’s like Paul Nash, whose vision of landscape had a spiritual quality, and I still identify very much with that sensibility. Abandoned structures, places to take refuge, and traces of past occupation; create strange and unexpected juxtapositions within the timelessness of the landscape”.

Michelle continues “We look forward to meeting you on our stand to discuss your needs and we hope people will come and support us”.
